from the vineyard...

The plots formerly used for grazing were selected for the establishment of the vineyard in 2019 and 2020.

We preserved as many trees as possible to maintain the biodiversity that thrives at Le Barretian.

The existing terraces were retained, and rocky ridges were bypassed.

The vines thrive among cistus, rosemary, and thyme.

It is in this exceptional natural environment that our vines, bathed in sunlight, soak up this golden light, imparting to our grapes all their power. We cultivate our vines with respect for this nature by maintaining permanent vegetation cover and without any non-organic inputs. We are committed to preserving the life of our soils, so we sow green manure and spread sheep manure.

The young vines are pruned by us, respecting the plant's physiology.

Thorough shoot thinning allows for the regulation of the potential yield of the vines.

Harvesting takes place early in the morning, in the coolness. Our grape harvest is carried out meticulously, each carefully selected bunch is handpicked. We pay special attention to every detail, aiming to preserve the integrity of the fruit and obtain grapes of the highest quality.

...to the cellar

The grapes destined for white wine, in whole clusters, are pressed directly after harvest. After a night of cooling, they undergo settling before fermentation begins.

Those intended for red wine are destemmed and then placed in tanks for maceration. During alcoholic fermentation, the grapes are regularly submerged in their juice to extract color (punching down).

After racking, all our red wines undergo malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

The vintages

syrah 2022

Our single varietal Syrah flourishes majestically at over 400 meters altitude. This viticultural gem, surrounded by the region's typical nature, is nestled on the lands of Barretian, on a Jurassic plateau. For this vintage, we carried out a barrel vinification, known as "integral," with 100% destemming and a manual punching down extraction process once a day.

To reveal the full expression of our Syrah, we chose to age it in sandstone amphorae. This vessel, shaped like an egg, highlights the fruity, black fruit, and spicy characteristics of this cuvée.

This wine is a true natural wine, crafted without compromise, where no sulfites or any other additives have been added. This respectful approach to nature and the winemaking process allows the wine to fully express itself, in all its complexity and richness.

sangiovese 2022

Although Sangiovese is typically associated with Italy or Corsica, we decided to introduce it here for a unique tasting experience. The complex, limestone and stony soils, the benevolent presence of the Mediterranean sun, and the gentle influence of the winds of Provence give our vines a unique character. It is here, among the century-old olive trees and the rows of immortelle flowers, that this Sangiovese finds its balance and develops its full potential.

Its fruity palette, delicately intense, evokes the sun's rays caressing the orchards, with seductive notes of juicy strawberries and luscious raspberries.

We chose to carry out natural winemaking, avoiding any addition of sulfites or other components, in order to preserve its authenticity and the purity of its cuvée.

The 2022 Sangiovese from Le Barretian is more than just a wine. It's an invitation to discovery, conviviality, and shared passion. Whether enjoyed chilled as an aperitif or paired with a summer meal, it gracefully and elegantly complements Mediterranean flavors.

pinot noir 2023

First vintage for these young vines. We find the typical characteristics of this grape variety with a fruity profile, aromas of red currants, and blackcurrant cream. Its lightness, freshness, and deliciousness make it an ideal companion for your aperitifs.

lb

This blend is the expression of young Mourvèdre and Syrah plants from a massal selection.

This method involves selecting vine plants from parcels of different geographical origins and is based on qualitative criteria to preserve genetic diversity and maintain their original varietal characteristics. Through this grafting process, there are thus over 200 different individuals of Mourvèdre or Syrah found in our plot.

rolle

The Rolle, from our La Gourre parcel, offers citrus aromas. Its controlled degree, finesse, freshness, and saline finish will ideally accompany your seafood and fish dishes, or even your aperitifs.

chardonnay

A limited production for this parcel of young vines. This opulent and concentrated wine has been aged on lees to refine its structure and offer more roundness. Aromas of quince, honey, and candied fruits.
